Hello to all our blog followers. We made it to Australia with a very easy couple of flights which we happened to be quite worried about before we departed. We had a 13 hour layover in New Zealand where we met 4 Brittish guys who showed us around Auckland NZ and helped us return to the airport right on time. Now we have there contact information for when we return in 4 months. Once we arrived to the OZ we stayed at the Calypso Hostel...pictured below. We walked around Cairns city on day one and had some of what we might call the best food we've ever had in our life. Thats right the food here is quite possibly the most delightful thing to have hit my pallet in a long time. We burned up some $$$ in Cairns and decided to hit the camp grounds in Palm Cove for a few days. Google Palm Cove to check it out. Its the quaintest little town with small resorts lining the beach, the beach which we've been tanning at for the past 2 days. The water is super warm and the sun is cooking us fairly quickly.
Funny story.....
So...last night at dinner Sarah and I were sitting at the adoreable little resturant eating yet another fabulous meal (coconut curry seafood rice bowl!!!!), when I saw something leap from the bush behind us onto this poor old man's chair. I immediatly notified Sarah of what happened and tried to show here what I saw. We realized it was the BIGGEST grasshopper we had ever seen in our entire life...were talking humming bird size folks. So we came to the conclusion that we had to tell the man...seems how the little hopper was slowly making its way up his chair. So Sarah tapped the old guy on the shoulder and said "Excuse me sir...but there is a huge grasshopper about to crawl in your lap." He kinda freaked and the hopper flew up in the air and in the lady infront of our table's hair. She freaked and finally the fiasco settled down. I told the tables around us "We've got your back...No worries!"
This morning we rescued a star fish that was washed up on the beach. We named it Mark Williams (the name has an inside story...maybe someday you'll be the lucky goose to hear that one...but maybe not :)!
Were having difficulty uploading our pictures at this point...as soon as we find a computer compatible with our camera's we'll be posting some great shots we've captured.
WERE HAVING HEEPS OF FUN! AND WE MISS YOU ALLL
